Department of Defense spending 2010

The official U.S. government report, from the Committee on Appropriations, indicate that the US will spend a total of $636.3 billion in 2010. Supposedly $104.2 billion is going towards "supporting preparation to begin withdrawal from Iraq." Really? Because Obama plans to send troops into the Middle East until 2012. I really like how the original plan was to pull out in 2007. The government isn't playing us at all! It was actually quite entertaining for me to see on the very bottom of this document that $0 will go into closing down Guantanamo Bay.

In 2009, we spent a total of $1.14 trillion, including military and DOD. That's in one year. I don't want to hear people complaining that the $940 billion going towards healthcare reform over the next TEN years is "too much money."
